Types of Art Journals

 Handmade Journals

They are fun to make and the options are limitless. They can be as thick or thin or in any shape as desired. They consist of pages made from cardboard scraps, greeting card mailers, old books and garnished with strings from yarns or leather and fabric scraps. They are as limitless as your imagination.

 Spiral Bound Journals

The biggest advantage of the spiral bound journals is that the pages are more or less lose and can be torn out without affecting the other pages.  This comes in handy if you decide to rip out a page. They also lie nicely flat on the surface

 Bound Journals

The book bound ones allow for a seamless covering if you’re artwork is spanning over the 2 open pages.

 Bought Journals

Store bought art journals made with good quality paper are somewhat pricey. These should be considered when your artwork consists of larger amounts of water color or acrylic paint.
